EFDT welcomes Biz to Franklin
Enterprise Franklin Development Trust is pleased to announce that Biz is now part of the services they offer to the business community of Franklin.
Biz information services are government funded and provide information and tools specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. The service is also available to those people that advise and support business.
As EFDT works with all levels of business, from cluster development to business start-ups it makes perfect sense for the Biz services to be available to Franklin business owners.
Recently as part of the Government’s ‘Jobs and Growth Plan’, Prime Minister John Key announced 11 tax changes and other measures designed to help small and medium sized businesses. One of these is in the area of business advice. Many small businesses don’t have the resources to call in expensive financial management advice therefore the government has expanded the Biz Info helpline and website to include a business health check and mentoring services. There will also be seminars offering tips on how to manage businesses through an economic downturn.
Small business will welcome these changes, the reduced compliance costs, provisional tax reduction and the expansion of the export credit scheme will give some relief to business during this difficult economic climate. It is good to see the government undertaking changes which should stimulate economic growth and protect jobs.
